Design Africa is a visionary initiative dedicated to showcasing and supporting Africa’s leading designers. Design Africa aspires to create a new impression of African design among international buyers and to assist a select portfolio of pan-African designers to reach their commercial potential.

BINTA ARMCHAIR

“Binta was inspired by Africa. Its sculptural shape evokes African wood carvings, but its polyurethane rubber forms are softer.

 The hospital has been developed around an empty space, physically and ideally occupied by two enormous mango trees, located at the centre of the site (a plot of land on the banks of the Nile about 20 km from Khartoum).

Khameo is a pioneering design workshop, which specializes in the design and manufacture of traditional and contemporary functional art furniture and ornamental accessories.

Founded in 2001, Khameo has provided clients with a comprehensive approach to design in limited production runs, and custom commissioned functional art furniture.
